For businesses on a waiting list

No bigger grid connection because of congestion? Here is what you can do.

You want to expand, electrify or charge, but the grid in your region is full. You are on a waiting list that can last for years. Waiting is expensive, and it is rarely the only option.

Independent advice. We do not sell batteries, panels or energy contracts.

Short answer

Under grid congestion, the grid operator will not give you extra transport capacity for now. Even so, you can often still grow: by shifting your peaks, absorbing them with a battery, signing an alternative transport right, sharing capacity with your neighbours in an energy hub, or using your own solar power directly. Which route fits depends on your use per quarter hour.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You were told there is no transport capacity available.
  • A new hall, production line or charging site is on hold.
  • You are considering a diesel generator as a temporary fix.
  • At busy moments you already hit your contracted capacity.

What it costs you

Growth you miss out on

Orders, expansion or new tenants you cannot serve until the power is there.

Expensive stopgaps

Generators and temporary installations cost rent, fuel and CO₂, and solve nothing for good.

Higher network costs

Every peak counts. If you go above your contracted capacity, it costs extra and often leads to a conversation with your grid operator.

What can you do about grid congestion? Five routes

There is rarely a single solution. Usually it is a combination of these five routes. After the scan you know which combination fits you. Because we sell nothing ourselves, we take all five equally seriously, including the routes that require you to buy nothing.

  1. Shift your peaks

Charge, cool or produce in the hours when your connection still has room.

    Technical term: smart control (EMS)
  2. Absorb your peaks

A battery fills up when it is quiet and steps in when things get tight.

    Technical term: battery storage (BESS)
  3. A different kind of contract with the grid operator

For example a time-block transport right: you use your full connection within agreed hours. Grid operators have been able to offer this since April 2025.

No installation neededTechnical term: alternative transport rights
  4. Together with your neighbours

Sharing a connection or energy with the businesses around you, so that together you have more room.

Technical term: energy hub, group contract
  5. Generate and use it yourself

Using power from your own roof at the moment you need it, instead of feeding it back.

    Technical term: behind-the-meter generation

How we help you move forward

STEP 1 · SCAN

Within a few weeks you know how much room you really need, and how much you already have.

You get: an overview of your peaks, your room and the promising routes.

Flex-e: 50%, up to € 10,000
STEP 2 · FEASIBILITY

We work out the best combination, with costs, savings and the effect on your connection.

You get: a business case you can present internally.

Flex-e: 50%, up to € 125,000
STEP 3 · PROCUREMENT AND CONTRACT

We request quotes from several parties, compare them against the same requirements and negotiate on your behalf.

You get: a fair comparison, contracts ready to sign and a submitted subsidy application.

Flex-e: 40% of your investment

After that, the party you choose builds. We build and sell nothing ourselves. Who does what in an energy project? →

Questions we often get

How long is a grid operator’s waiting list?
It differs by region and can take years. In the scan we look at how much room you can create yourself in the meantime.
What are alternative transport rights?
Contracts with your grid operator in which you get less certainty about your capacity, in exchange for faster access or a lower tariff. For example, transport only within agreed time blocks, or a contract without guaranteed availability. What your grid operator offers differs by region.
Am I eligible for the Flex-e subsidy?
You can be if your connection is larger than 3x80 amperes and you have a contract with a metering company. The flexibility scan is covered for 50% (up to € 10,000), the feasibility study also for 50% (up to € 125,000), and the measures themselves for 40%. Applications for 2026 are open until 15 October 2026.
Do I need a battery under grid congestion?
No. Sometimes smarter planning or a different contract is enough. We only advise on technology once we know your use.
Do you earn from the solution I choose?
No. We sell no installations or energy contracts and work only for you as our client. That is why we can also advise you to buy nothing at all.
What does it cost?
That depends on your site and your question. After the free call you receive a tailored proposal. Through the Flex-e scheme you can get up to 50% subsidy; we handle that application.
